After France (see previous blog) we journeyed to England and I spent some time in London to do some more research, including a tour of Parliament House, before I took up my writer’s residency in beautiful Barnstaple in Devon. Being summer, there were beautiful baskets of flowers hanging everywhere DSCN3395– and luscious summer fruits for purchase in the Panniers’ MarketDSCN3396, as well as the blackberries that lined the river path where I walked every day searching for inspiration!DSCN3811 A side trip to Glastonbury took me to the Chalice Well Gardens and the White SpringDSCN3647. I also climbed Glastonbury TorDSCN3475 and walked down Wearyall Hill and past the vandalised remains of the Glastonbury Thorn – which are still very much revered as witnessed by all the offerings attached to it. More pix next week – watch this space!
