Congratulations to Kirsty O’Rourke of St John the Baptist (Freshwater in Sydney) who hosted a fabulous afternoon tea to bring authors and students together at her school on Tuesday.  Groups of students, excited to meet some of their favourite authors, were moved from classroom to classroom at 10-minute intervals to share time with three out of the nine authors attending the afternoon tea.  But there was time for them to meet and chat to all the authors at the sumptuous afternoon tea that followed, plus the opportunity to buy books and have them signed. It was a huge exercise in logistics and students and teachers made sure it all ran like clockwork, while the authors had a ball meeting a whole lot of kids and talking about their books (Ghost Boy and The Little Penguins of Manly in my case.)  Well done to you all!  I was also delighted to get the latest copy of ASIM* with my story in it: ‘Mirror, mirror …’ and also receive notification that another of my stories, ‘Mother Snow Queen’, has been accepted.  (I have to say that both these stories seem to have unleashed my inner arsonist – but they were fun to write, in a macabre sort of way!)  *Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine.  And I will post off a copy to the first three to contact me (through my website) with their address – Australian residents only, please!
