Apologies for the long silence from me: I’ve been in hospital having a knee replacement (ouch!) followed by two weeks at rehab and am now on an ongoing rehab programme to get my knee bending and stretching again.  A work in progress, and a painful one, but things improve day by day so I’m trying to take it easy, do the exercises, and generally focus on getting a properly functioning knee back again.  Meanwhile several emails have come in with opportunities for authors or info that might be of potential interest – so here is the first one, from Ric McDonald, copied below. The next one will follow in a day or two. Please understand that this doesn’t come with my endorsement as I really know nothing about it – so it’s up to you to suss it all out and make your own decisions about whether or not you wish to take part.  And good luck!!  (PS The photo is of lorikeets on our balcony – nothing to do with the comp. below!)

The 20 images are all different and have been selected by the photography judges as images that are both high quality images that tell a strong story.

The combination of photography and writing competition was devised by the West Australian Photographic Federation as a way of blending the skills of both amateur photographers and writers with a prize pool of $2800 cash as well as each finalist getting a copy of the limited edition book with both the finalist images and the accompanying story printed in a high quality photo book by AlbumWorks

Additional copies of this book are available for sale at $150 per copy or $100 for entrants if ordered at the time of entry.

This is year two of this competition which attracts entries from across Australia.

Early bird entries before July 30th attract a 10% discount on entry fees.
