I’ve been asked for more information regarding the Plantagenet Society in Sydney as we’re meeting this coming Saturday, 20th July to listen to an illustrated talk about the depiction of Richard III on screen – although I believe the presentation might also extend to several other kings/queens in the Plantagenet line.  We meet every two months at 2 pm in the meeting room at Hornsby Library,  Hunter Lane, Hornsby.  The meeting last for two hours and your $3 entry gives you a wonderful talk on some aspect of medieval society and/or the Plantagenet line that starts with Henry II and continue until the death of Richard III at Bosworth. Membership is $25, which includes a bimonthly newsletter, but visitors are always welcome.  Upcoming meetings include a talk on the ‘Secrets of Arthurian Romances’ on Sept.2st and printing before the development of the printing press on Nov. 16th.  Activities in the past have included the re-enactment of medieval mystery plays, round table discussions on various topics, as well as talks on such diverse subjects as medieval gardens, witches, coinage, the Black Prince, medieval armour, a medieval Christmas, etc.  For more information on the Society, email John McDermott: plantagenets@telstra.com.
