Gabrielle Lord with her terrific new novel ‘Sisters’.

So enjoyed yesterday’s Society of Women Writers workshop and lunch at the State Library with the fabulous Gabrielle Lord (pictured.) Gabrielle’s writing workshop was a delight, with four rare and very special artefacts that sent our imaginations into overdrive after we were invited to choose one or more as an inspiration for a story – VERY valuable for me and, judging from the splendid stories that emerged from everyone around the table, very valuable for everyone else as well! Gabrielle also talked about her latest book Sisters, set on Crete and with some beautiful photos to illustrate the site. It’s a gripping novel about the tensions – but also the love – between sisters as Greta travels to Crete to find her missing sister, with only her sister’s paintings and partly ruined journal to lead her to the heart-breaking truth.
