I have a HUGE week coming up, beginning with Lunch with the Stars at the beautiful old St Patricks seminary in Manly tomorrow, with lots of children’s authors and a host of excited students and their teachers. On Wednesday I’ll be talking to Brookvale Primary students about Ghost Boy and the Quarantine Station. It’s always a great place to visit, and NB on Sunday there’s an Open Day at the QS with lots to see and do – including my session at 10.30 when I’ll be giving a short talk about researching/writing Ghost Boy + a reading and book signing. Hope to see you there if you live in Sydney! And do look out for the fair-haired pig-tailed ghost child who sometimes joins in the fun! On Thursday it’s off to Burwood for Michael Fraser’s annual and fabulous ‘Bookfeast’. My grandson’s birthday party on Saturday morning (happy 3rd birthday Maxie-tax) and the Plantagenets in the afternoon with a talk on medieval London. And finally the Quarantine Station on Sunday morning, after which I’ll be talking to Bondi FAW members about self-publishing. A busy week, but lots of fun. I’m looking forward to it.
I had a great time at MacKillop College in Bathurst last week talking about writing stories, and where ideas come from, and also about researching and writing The Janna Mysteries. I was also taken around the Mount Panarama circuit – but slowly! My thanks to all for making me so welcome: I really enjoyed my visit.
