‘They would do anything to be reunited with those they love, even if it means travelling beyond the boundaries of the world as we know it.’
I’m so delighted to reveal the cover of my new book, The Once & Future Camelot, to be published by Momentum/Pan Macmillan at the end of May. This is the sequel to I, Morgana, and follows the fortunes of Morgana’s daughter, Marie, who earns her place at the court of Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine by reciting stories based on her time in Camelot and on Breton folk tales told to her by a nun at a priory and also her father, Launcelot du Lac. But Marie is troubled by catastrophic visions of the future, visions shared by the present-day Morgan. And when their lives collide in a garden in Glastonbury they need to trust the magic that connects them to save not only the world, but also each other.
The Once & Future Camelot was written while on a three-month writers’ residency in the UK, and I am so grateful to Professor Di Yerbury and the NSW Society of Women Writers for giving me the time and space to walk in the footsteps of my characters and research what I needed to know.
