After the Covid lockdowns it was wonderful to be able to attend the CBCA Northern Beaches Lunch with the Stars once more. A room full of excited students, all passionate readers (and some of them writers) sitting at tables with a dazzling array of authors and illustrators all happy to talk about their craft and pass on some tips and tricks to students. Big shout out to my school, John Colet, a fabulous group of students with their teacher, Grace. We all enjoyed listening to the special stars, Louise Park (with her many author aliases) and funny-man Oliver Phommavanh, and doing the villain ‘trivia’ quiz along with laughing at Oliver’s antics with his stuffed friends! Big thanks to Paul and Beth from the Children’s Bookshop for selling our books, and to everyone who made the day such a huge success.
